Jonathan Juncal, Accegal main developer, has won with his Master Thesis, VirtualTec, the first prize at the 12th Contest of Technology Project, form A. These awards have been organized by Expourense and the Higher School of Computer Engineering of the University de Vigo.
Congratulations to Jonathan for his great work and this new prize awarded to his Master Thesis.

We are happy to present you today our new application. SubTitleMe is an architecture that allows hearing impaired people to have on their mobile devices the synchronized subtitles of a film at the cinema.
This architecture consists of a server, that must be installed in the cinema, and Android mobile application that displays subtitles synchronized with the film.

PictoDroid Lite App was awarded as Best ICT Project with Social Benefits at the Galician Telecommunications Night 2012 hosted by the Galician Association of Telecommunication Engineers (AETG) and driven by Galician Agency for Technological Modernization (AMTEGA).

Now the app is available in Spanish, Gallician and English, and we have added a new landscape reverse mode, as some users demanded.

We have improved the memory usage, and also fixed a bug with play pict in accumulative mode.
Jonathan Juncal has been awarded with the first accesit today (2nd prize) at the Accessibility Master Thesis Award by Universia – Vodafone Foundations. His project VirtualTEC, was ACCEGAL starting point and their project leaders, Enrique Costa and Maria Fatima Garcia, were present during his defense and awards ceremony.
Our warmest congratulations to Jonathan Juncal for his work and for his well-deserved award, and also to the other winners in this edition skimmed from 41 master thesis throughout Spain and of which only three, all of great quality, reached a tight end.
Tomorrow It will be the final for the Universia-Vodafone Foundation award in Madrid. All our support for Jonathan Juncal; sure he will do great. Both ACCEGAL directors will be there to help and support him and to celebrate with him the resulting award.
And on Friday a new master thesis (within the ACCEGAL project) will be presented… that’s as far as we can tell for now. Next week, hopefully, we will give you plenty of details.
Jonathan Juncal Martínez, Ingeniero Técnico en Telecomunicación, realizó como Proyecto de Fin de Carrera la aplicación VirtualTEC, germen del que nacería ACCEGAL hace apenas un año. Fue un trabajo excelente en el que Jonathan lo dio todo para hacer una aplicación funcional, estéticamente agradable y orientada a los usuarios.
Pero Jonathan hizo mucho más. Se implicó en el trabajo, continuó haciendo mejoras, programó MessageTTS, PictoDroid y PictoDroid Lite. Lo hizo en muchos casos a costa de su tiempo personal y siempre con voluntad de ayudar a las personas que no podían comunicarse. Por ello ha recibido muestras de agradecimiento de los usuarios y ahora su trabajo se ha visto también recompensado. Su Proyecto de Fin de Carrera ha sido seleccionado como finalista en los premios a Proyectos de Fin de Carrera de la Fundación Universia-Fundación Vodafone España, debiendo defender en la final su trabajo ante un tribunal junto a los otros dos finalistas.
Nuestra más afectuosa enhorabuena y todo nuestro apoyo a Jonathan porque se merece lo mejor. No podemos estar más orgullosos.
